To keep your coffee fresh, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark place if consuming within 2–3 weeks. For longer storage, freeze to preserve flavor. Avoid refrigeration—coffee absorbs odors and moisture, ruining its taste. Enjoy beans within 2–3 weeks of roasting for peak flavor, and grind only what you need for each brew to maximize freshness.
The grind depends on your brew. For example, a fine grind is best for espresso, while a coarser grind is better for French press. A high-quality grinder ensures consistency for the perfect cup.
Light roasts are vibrant and fruity, with a delicate acidity that highlights the bean's origin. Medium roasts strike a perfect balance, blending acidity with a touch of sweetness. Dark roasts offer a bold, smoky richness with deep, roasted flavors. Each roast brings its own unique experience with different brewing methods.
Specialty coffee is crafted from high-quality beans grown in specific regions and roasted carefully at lower temperatures to preserve the bean’s natural sweetness, aroma, and complex flavor profiles. In contrast, commercial coffee is made from mass-produced, lower-quality beans, often blended from various sources and roasted darker at higher temperatures, resulting in a less distinctive, and sometimes burnt taste.
